Heo Jun · Dongui Bogam

Heo Jun's Dongui Bogam (1613) — the third cornerstone of East Asian health cultivation alongside China and Japan, inscribed on UNESCO's Memory of the World Register in 2009. Its originality lies not in its remedies but in its architecture: by placing the Inner Landscape (Body, Essence, Qi, Spirit) at the front of the entire canon, Heo Jun wrote prevention into the table of contents itself. It is also the first state-issued medical canon to absorb Daoist inner-alchemy vocabulary — cinnabar fields, inward contemplation, conservation of essence — into clinical medicine, and to localize its materia medica under the hyangyak principle of availability. Eight modules — bilingual (Chinese lectures + English teaching), with Chinese MP3 narration. (Wellness-focused; classical formulas and constitutional theory are historical education, not health advice.)
